AS9100 is managed by SAE International and certified by PRI (the Performance Review Institute). Dr. DeHennis is fully certified by the NADCAP (National Aerospace Defense Contractor’s Accreditation Program), which is also managed by PRI.
Dr. DeHennis is a member of the ASQ (American Society for Quality), the gold standard for auditors. Dr. Philip M. DeHennis, PE
Quality Engineer, Metallurgist, Materials Engineer, and Auditor
Dr. DeHennis brings decades of industry experience to his profession. He began his career in manufacturing, heading up the materials testing lab for SPS Technologies in Jenkintown, PA. He developed innovative processes that increased quality and sales to the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors. He then improved quality control and production processes for several other manufacturers, always increasing his scope and depth in metallurgy, quality control systems, heat-treating, and manufacturing. For almost a decade, Dr. DeHennis turned his expertise towards building rotary aircraft at The Boeing Company. As a Quality Engineer, he ensured aircraft meet the punishing demands expected by the servicemen and women who flew these aircraft in combat.
Dr. DeHennis’ post-secondary education began with an Associates of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Temple University in 1974 and a Bachelor of Science, Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineering from Drexel University in 1980. He earned a Masters of Business Administration in1990 from Philadelphia University. In 2011, DeHennis earned his Doctorate of Business Administration from the National Graduate School of Quality Management.
Dr. DeHennis is a Registered Professional Engineer, Metallurgy & Materials Engineering. He is a Past Instructor in Engineering Design Studies at Penn State Abington. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society for Quality (ASQ), and the American Society for Metals (ASM International). He has lectured on heat treatment, metallurgy, failure analysis, and fasteners, NDT Certificate Programs, SAE E25 general standards for aerospace, and propulsion systems.
DeHennis Consulting is also a veteran-owned business. Doctor DeHennis retired as a Colonel after serving 36 years as in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He commanded the 213th Area Support Group, a Brigade-sized formation of specialized troops providing engineering, transportation, finance, chemical, and public affairs operations. Combat Engineers are specialist soldiers who perform a variety of construction and demolition tasks.
He graduated, with Honors, from the United States Army Command and General Staff College and completed the Senior Army Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Officers Course. He is a graduate of the prestigious US Army War College in Carlisle, PA.
